Asbestos was used in Canadian building design and construction until the late 1980’s Asbestos building materials, included: fire proofing, mechanical equipment insulation such as pipes, ducts and furnaces. Asbestos was also commonly found in drywall joint compound, floor and ceiling tiles, and many types of insulation. Hard asbestos containing material (ACU), also included, cement pipes and drains as well wall boards used around fireplaces and as acoustic material. If you own, manage, or work as a contractor in a building with potential asbestos containing material, that building must have a current, completed ASBESTOS SURVEY Understand your asbestos situation Know your Regulatory Responsibilities Our asbestos survey package for commercial, institutional and residential buildings includes: A complete non-intrusive visual inspection of the entire building and it’s components, including pipe tunnels and chases, all above ceiling spaces and any other accessible areas. Representative samples of suspected asbestos containing materials as required by the Regulation are collected for independent laboratory analysis. You are provided a complete report of the Survey including a Summary with recommendations and Building Asbestos Inventory in spreadsheet format. This will contain information regarding location, type of building material, estimated quantity, condition, type, and concentration of Asbestos. Laboratory reports and client provided CAD generated floor plans are also included.
